titty 的词源

大约公元1200年，可能是晚期古英语，tete，意为“乳头；人类女性的乳腺”。这个词源自古法语的tete（12世纪，现代法语为tette），而古法语又源自原始日耳曼语的*titta（这也是古英语中titt的来源，参见tit (n.1)）。西班牙语的teta和意大利语的tetta也来自同一词源。到14世纪中期，这个词开始被用来指人类男性的乳头。中古英语中有teatly，意为“像乳头一样的形状”（15世纪初）。
