Gatling gun 的词源

这款枪械于1864年问世，命名源自其设计者，美国发明家理查德·乔丹 Gatling（1818-1903）。虽然早在1862年就已获得专利，但直到1864年6月的彼得堡战役，才作为美国将军本·巴特勒的独立倡议在美国内战中首次使用。
