Joe Miller 的词源

“陈词滥调”这个词最早出现在1816年，源自Joseph Miller（1684-1738），他是一位喜剧演员。在他去世后，他的名字被附加在一本流行的笑话书上，《乔·米勒的笑话，或机智者的手册》（1739年），这本书是由约翰·莫特利编纂的。正因如此，米勒在死后获得了比生前更大的声誉。
