filet 的词源

1841年，fillet（参见词条）一词从法语重新借用，这个词最早在14世纪被引入并英语化。Filet mignon（字面意思是“精致的肉片”）指的是“来自肉菲力中心的小圆嫩肉”，自1815年起作为法语词汇被英语使用。

The 'Chateaubriand,' the 'entrecôte,' and the 'filet mignon' (of mutton), with other forms, are all due to the more enlarged sympathies of the French butcher for what is perfect.
