identity 的词源

大约1600年，“相同性，统一性，相同状态”来自法语identité（14世纪），源自中世纪拉丁语identitatem（主格identitas）“相同性”，最终来自拉丁语idem（中性）“相同的”（参见idem）。

该词在英语中的早期形式是idemptitie（1560年代），源自中世纪拉丁语idemptitas。术语identity crisis记录于1954年。Identity theft的使用可追溯至1995年。Identity politics在1985年得到证实，据说该短语由黑人女权主义团体Combahee River Collective Statement（1977年）引起关注。
