sidle 的词源

“in the dark”这个短语出现在15世纪中期，来源于名词 dark 和现已废弃的副词后缀 -ling（可以与 headlong 对比）。动词 darkle 则是一个逆向构词，出现在1810年（Moore 创造了这个词，并将其与 sparkle 押韵），假定 -ing 是现在分词形容词后缀。
