Eskimo 的词源

1765年，来源于因纽皮克语（Inupiaq Eskimo），inuit意为“人们”，是inuk（“人，男人”）的复数形式。

“爱斯基摩犬”，1852年，加拿大英语，早期（1830年）hoskey “爱斯基摩人”，可能是Ehuskemay（1743年）的缩短变体，后者本身是Eskimo（爱斯基摩）的变体。
