attention 的词源

14世纪晚期，attencioun，意为“注意，积极地将心思集中于某个对象或主题”，源自古法语attencion，直接来自拉丁语attentionem（主格attentio）“注意，专注”，是名词形式，源自过去分词词干attendere“注意”，字面意思是“向某物伸展”，来自ad“向，朝”（参见ad-）+ tendere“伸展”（来自印欧语根*ten-“伸展”）。

在英语中，17世纪之前较为罕见。1741年起意为“考虑，观察性关心”；1752年起意为“礼貌，客气”；1871年起意为“心理集中能力”。
