austerity 的词源

在14世纪中期，austerite（来自古法语，意为“严厉，残酷”）和晚期拉丁语的austeritatem（主格austeritas）共同演变出“严厉，刻板”的含义。这些词源自austerus，原意是“严厉，刚硬”，在古典拉丁语中则多用于形容“严酷，酸涩”（参见austere）。
