chivvy 的词源

“骚扰”这个词最早出现在1918年，源自chevy这个词的另一种形式（1830年），意为“追逐”。而chevy这个名词则出现在1824年，曾用作狩猎时的呼喊，大约起源于1785年。它来自chevy chase，意指“一场追逐”，很可能源自《Chevy Chase之歌》，这是一首流行于15世纪的歌曲，描述了一场在边境地区的狩猎队伍，最终演变成英苏之间的战斗（这一事件大约发生在14世纪末）。这个地方最初可能被称为Cheviot Chase（参见chase (n.1)）。
