constipated 的词源

1530年代，指“用粪便填满或塞满肠道”，部分源自对 constipation 的回溯构词，部分来自拉丁语 constipatus，是 constipare 的过去分词，意为“紧紧挤压或拥挤在一起”。早期英语中有一个类似的动词 constipen（14世纪末）。在英语中，“挤压或塞入狭小空间”的一般意义出现在1540年代。相关词汇包括 Constipated 和 constipating。
