global 的词源

1670年代，意为“球形的”，由 globe（球体）和 -al（形容词后缀）组合而成。1892年起，这个词引申出“全球性的，普遍的，涉及整个地球”的意思，这一变化源自法语。Global village（全球村）首次出现于1960年，由加拿大教育家马歇尔·麦克卢汉（Marshall McLuhan，1911-1980）推广，甚至可能是他创造的。
