Cristina 的词源

1520年代，作为名词使用，指“耶稣基督的信徒和追随者”；1550年代，作为形容词使用，意为“信奉基督教的，已被接纳入基督教会的”。这些形式取代了中古英语中的 Cristen（既可作名词也可作形容词），源自古英语 cristen，是从西日耳曼语借用自教会拉丁语 christianus，而该词又源自教父希腊语 christianos，最终来自 Christos（参见 Christ）。根据《使徒行传》11章25-26节的记载，这个词最早是在安提阿使用的：
