此外，alchy，1841年，“一种含酒精的饮料”（也指“拟人化的酒精饮料”），是对alcoholic liquor的俚语缩写，最早出现在禁酒运动的出版物中。作为“酒鬼”（即alcoholic (n.)的缩写），1888年开始被使用。
