coupon 的词源

1822年，coupon这个词被用来指“债券上到期利息的凭证”，也就是可以从债券上剪下并提交领取付款的部分。这一词源于法语，字面意思是“剪下的部分”，来自于动词couper（剪切），而coup则意为“打击”或“切割”（参见coup）。到了1860年代，英国旅行代理商托马斯·库克将其含义扩展为“折扣票”。而特指“在购买商品时可以兑换财务折扣或返利的票据或凭证”的广告意义，则是在1906年出现的。
