extended 的词源

在15世纪中期，extend（动词）的过去分词形式演变为形容词，意指“占用时间，延长”。到1550年代，这个词开始用于描述“在空间上被拉长”。而extended-play（形容词）最早出现在1953年，专门指代那些特别的录音，尤其是7英寸、45转的黑胶唱片。1943年起，这个词还被用来描述弹珠台游戏。
