pooped 的词源

“tired”这个词在1931年出现，具体来源不明，可能是模仿因疲惫而沉重呼吸的声音（可以参考 poop (n.2)）。不过，poop 和 poop out 在1920年代的航空领域中已经被用来形容发动机“熄火”或“停止运转”。此外，还有一个动词 poop，用于船只，意思是“被从后方的巨浪压倒”，通常会导致灾难性的后果（参见 poop (n.1)）。因此，在航海领域的比喻用法中，它也可以表示“被压倒和击败”，这种用法在1920年代就有记录。
