clapper 的词源

13世纪晚期，clap（动词）衍生的名词，意指“发出响亮尖锐声音的东西”。到了14世纪晚期，这个词还被用来专指“钟的舌头”。在古英语中，这个词是clipur。而“在拍摄开始时，为了同步画面和声音，在摄像机前快速合上的带铰链的板子”这一意义则出现在1940年。
