loop 的词源

14世纪晚期，指“布料、绳索、皮革、线材等的折叠或加倍”，具体起源尚不明确。《牛津英语词典》倾向于认为它源自凯尔特语（可以与盖尔语的 lub “弯曲”，爱尔兰语的 lubiam 相比较），在英语中可能受到了古诺尔斯语 hlaup “跳跃，奔跑”（参见 leap (v.)）的影响或融合。作为指纹特征的术语，首次出现于1880年。关于磁录音带或胶卷的用法，最早记录于1931年。在计算机编程中，“重复执行的指令序列”这一含义首次证明于1947年。
