their 的词源

“他们自己的，属于他们的人民、土地”等意思的物主代词，出现于14世纪初。它由 their 和物主后缀 -s 组合而成，模仿了 his、hers 等形式，但在结构上是一个双重物主结构。类似的结构也出现在早期的本土代词 hiera、here，意为“他们的”；在晚期古英语中以 heres 的形式被记录。
