hoedown 的词源

“嘈杂的舞蹈”，1841年，南方美国，显然最初是指一种特定的舞蹈，可能因为舞蹈动作与农活的相似性，因此得名于 hoe（名词）。

The step of every negro dance that was ever known, was called into requisition and admirably executed.
